About Me

Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Maria Bruner and I am originally from LaSalle, Illinois. Before stepping into the world of web development, I attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. There I played varsity volleyball for four years and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. While at Rose-Hulman I fell in love with writing code after learning Matlab and being exposed to Python and C through some basic computer science and robotics courses. However, I was committed to finishing my engineering degree in four years so I did not pursue it further at the time.

I now live in Indianapolis where I am a Quality and Carbon Design Engineer at Makuta, INC., a micromolding and Carbon 3D partnered company. While studying code in my free time and researching a career in web development, I discovered ElevenFifty Academy's part time web development bootcamp. Taking this course confirmed my interest in code and turned it into a passion. Since March of 2021, I have devoted most of my time outside of work practicing Javascript, HTML, CSS, and all of the necessary tools to begin a career in web development. I am fortunate to have found my passion so early in my career and I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow as a developer. My projects below are shown in chronological order, so you will hopefully be able to see how my skills have improved throughout the course.
